In the original clubhouse there was no bar, members merely rang a bell, sat down and drinks were brought to them. Thankfully this is one of the things that has changed. Dr Frank Stableford's portrait hangs in the bar, a reminder to the members of the debt owed to the club golfer's greatest benefactor.
